What's Happening?

02/04/22

We have just finshed touring Tasmania... and the trip around Australia is complete!

Approx 32,000km, 450+ videos and 9 months. We gained 1.2 million followers on TikTok and had news interviews across the country and articles around the world.

Right now, I'm taking a little time to rest and recharge in an off-grid cabin in Far East Victoria. Living on a motorbike for the last year or so and creating content every day has been quite the process!

Currently, we are in the running to win a 'peoples choice' film award through TikTok and Screen Australia, which would be a great way to wrap up this time and all these efforts. Fingers crossed on that one.

Here's the plan for the year...

I have had to take a job opportunity for ten weeks that starts on May 4th, as funds were depleted. This involves us driving a support bus across the Australian Outback as part of a bicycle tour from Adelaide in South Australia to Karumba in Queensland. That is a 30-day 2000km trip, which will be  going north, and then another 30-day 2000km trip coming south.

On the completion of this job in July, I plan to visit family (and my house) in Indonesia for 3-weeks. Both of these ventures will continue to present opportunities to create documentaries and content, so you will be coming with me.

Then, in August/September we hit the real goal for the year. As borders have opened and regulations have eased, the touring industry is open again to the internation market. So, I am going to create my own touring company and run a handful of 7-day desert tours to begin with. As long as i can get 'bums on seats', (which shouldn't be too difficult) that will be a hugely successful venture. One that I am indescribably excited about!

There are also talks to create a pilot episode, with a small crew, touching on 'reality TV' during the process of those tours.

This takes us into October, when I plan on getting myself over to New Zealand to run a 6-8 week docu-tour of the north and south islands. Similar to what we did in Australia, but a little more structured, a little more 'people oriented' and a little more YouTube based.

That fills our year at this point.

As you can see, there is much to come.

A lot of this requires digital updates, website overhauls, legal proceedings, booking systems, logistics, deals, teams, shysters, work, and travel. As things progress, I hope to get the professional support I need to accomplish all of this. I'm still very much learning about the business and digitial side of these projects. It's a whole new world and ultimately a new language for me. Wish me luck and stay tuned for whats to come!
